Angelica Deleon, RN
Five years of prerequisite classes, and two years in a nursing program... 3 weeks of studying and stressing out over the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), that big bad test that we have to take to become a nurse, and as of April 16th, 2019, I am officially a Registered Nurse. I have always dreamt of being a nurse, an Emergency Department Nurse to be exact, and when I got the job as an Emergency Room Technician (in 2015), I fell more and more in love with the idea of being an ED Nurse. I was more motivated than ever to finish nursing school. Now that I am done, it still feels so surreal to me that I am now, Angelica Deleon, RN.
There were a few bumps in the road with getting my dream job in the Emergency Department, but until I can work in the ED, I took a job at a correctional facility. I start on Monday, Mary 6th, and I am beyond nervous. Uh, hello? Everything that I have learned in nursing school, I need to ACTUALLY apply to real life. I'm currently in California visiting family, and I decided to spend my two hour plane ride from Seatac to LAX listening to youtube videos on nursing assessments for CIWA and COWS - detoxing and withdrawing from substances.
I am currently sitting in a coffee shop with my cousin and her boyfriend. I've decided that I would take this opportunity to update my blog, edit some photos, and word/feeling dump everything that I have been feeling the last couple of weeks.
I terribly miss Sean, the most amazing boyfriend ever, and my two stinkers. I am so incredibly grateful for a boyfriend that supports me and my dream to do photography and balance my workaholic tendencies. I joke with him all the time that I am working so much, so that he can quit his job and be a stay-at-home dog dad. I mean, who wouldn't want to be?
Anyway, I need to get back to editing a couple session and a family session.
